Located at an hour driven from Munnar in Kerela, Anamudi Peak is the highest peak in the Western Ghats. At the height of 2695 meters or 8842 feet above sea level, the peak offers a spectacular and panoramic view of the Mother Nature in her absolute pomp. Located within the huge mountains, the peak can be reached via four hour trek to the north of the city.
Anamudi Peak delights for its constant fragrance of scene and visual vignettes of stretched out carpets of tea plantations. Fondly referred to as the ‘Himalayas of southern India’, the peak is situated between Annamalai hills, Palni hills and Cardamon hills, and is basically an extension of the Eravikulam National Park. Literally meaning ‘Elephant forehead’, the peak together with Eravikulam Park is a world of vast wild animals and their habitats and attracts wildlife enthusiast in big numbers.
