On the banks of River Kali in Uttara Kannda District – bordering Goa and Karnataka – lies the calm and quiet Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary. Stretching over an area of 834.16 sq. km, it’s considered the second largest wildlife sanctuary in Karnataka. Apart from wildlife safari, the sanctuary gives tourists an opportunity to enjoy white water rafting and a other adventure activities like kayaking, canoying and mountain biking.
Adjoining the Mahaveer sanctuary in Goa, this sanctuary has an altitude ranging between 100 m to 970 m and is home to a wide variety of animal flora and fauna. From tigers to leopards to antelopes to gaur to deer to elephants to black panthers – wildlife enthusiasts will see a rich variety of animal in their natural habitat. Crocodiles and snakes can also be seen in the park.
