Opened in 1881, the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway is an outstanding example of a hill passenger Railway and it’s also the first such system in India. It’s a fully functional and operational rail link across the mountainous terrain. Also known as the “Toy Train”, it’s basically a narrow gauge railway in the India state of West Bengal.
