Naina Peak, also known as China Peak, is the highest peak in the beautiful town of Nainital, Uttarakhand. It’s a famous attraction in the city just 10 km off Tallital Bus Stand. A trek to the peak remains one of the top activities for tourists here and there surely can’t be a more beautiful place for a short trekking. In true sense, it’s a pure delight at an altitude of 2615 m.
Until the 1962 war with China, it’s was known as China Peak but after that, it got renamed. It’s considered a trekker's delight for high altitude and lush green forest path. What’s more, amazing natural surroundings coupled with snow-covered mountains all around make this highest point a magic natural delight for tourists of all hues. It’s largely a quiet and calm place from where tourists can view the majestic Nanda Devi peak and the mountains on the Tibet border.
Tourists often have to face a challenging trek to their up to the Nanda Peak. They can also take a horse ride or navigate the hilly paths on foot to get breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. By coming here, tourists can get a splendid Bird's eye view of the town and the Himalayas together. From nowhere else the vast expanses of the Terai regions of Kumaon look as dazzling and spectacular as they are from atop this peak!
