Sand Dune villages are small villages nestled amid sand dunes of Khimsar, which is some 92 Km away from the city of Jodhpur in Rajasthan. This place is only accessible by jeep, camel and horse. These villages have deliberately been designed to be eco-friendly and a visit here is a great opportunity to enjoy the tranquility of the Thar Desert. There are many artificial hotels that are made with sand and are at a reasonable distance from the Khimsar Fort. This village is spread at an area of 60 acres with beautiful pond - there is around 16 beautiful huts design with the local material, handcraft and wooden furniture.

Camel safari is the most popular activity here and greatly liked by the tourists. The villages organize many cultural and traditional program and events that attract lots of tourists. The traditional Rajasthan meal remains a major draw for tourists here. This place remains warm in days and night are cold. The Nagaur Fort is other attraction here which was built in 10th century. October to mid-April is the best time to visit this place.
